I was looking through craigslist one day as I was really bored waiting for parts for my car to arrive. I saw a 1973 TS185 For $130. I wanted it. I bought it. I'd never ridden before so I... Hi Bernard. The TS250 and more especially the TS185 had a better reputation then the TS400. The 400 was very vibey, and more prone to crank problems, but great, if somewhat raw, fun to ride. Ask me how I know! Personally I think the TS185ER was the pick of the bunch, but the TS250ER is still a very nice bike. The TS185 is lighter than the 125 by a few pounds, and has nearly the power of the 250 but with a much more free revving motor. The 250 is 62 lb (28 kg) heavier than the 185. The larger TS series, 125 and over had piston port engines while the smaller TS series-90 and 100 had rotary valve induction, until the introduction of the ER series motors.
